More foam can interfere with rinsing and visibility. Cleaning removes cosmetic residue; it should not be described as sterilization or guaranteed pathogen removal without validated evidence.
Pre-remove heavy cream and pigment buildup
Wipe excess foundation, concealer, lipstick, or waterproof product with a compatible method before machine cleaning when directions support it. A heavily loaded brush can contaminate the wash liquid immediately and redeposit residue. Separate eye, lip, and complexion brushes and replace dirty solution as needed rather than running an entire collection through one opaque bowl.
Use splash and electrical controls
Place the device on a stable, washable surface away from food and unprotected electronics. Keep charging ports, batteries, and motor housings dry according to instructions.
