Wig Cap Size Chart: Three Measurements and a Brand Example
Quick answer: Measure circumference, ear-to-ear, and front-to-back, then use the exact wig maker’s chart. The table below reproduces Jon Renau’s published stock-system chart; it is not a universal sizing standard. If your measurements point to different rows, follow the maker’s fitting guidance or ask an authorized fitter before ordering.

Jon Renau’s guide says to take all three measurements and choose the cap size indicated by the largest measurement when the results do not align with one size. Values below are transcribed from the manufacturer’s chart; use its current catalog if the manufacturer updates them.

Why measure three directions?
Circumference records the path around the head from the front hairline to the nape and back. Ear-to-ear records a route over the top of the head; Jon Renau establishes that route using a point seven inches behind the front hairline. Front-to-back follows the center line from the front hairline to the nape. A cap that matches one dimension can still differ on another.
